The PPAQ is a 61-item Likert-type scale that assesses attitudes, relationships, and changing roles of mothers in the weeks and months after giving birth.

The CVS was designed as a quick screening device for use by physicians, nurses, and other medical personnel. It contains eight Likert-type items, each detailing a specific health-related concern for the purposes of evaluating parents' perception of their child's medical vulnerability.
